Kathryn Watt

I am a post-graduate research assistant working on a BBSRC-funded project entitled early-life effects on ageing in an evolutionary context: This project principally focuses on the long-term study of Soay sheep on St Kilda. My work involves developing and validating assays to measure variation in key physiological parameters associated with immunity and ageing, using biological samples collected from free-living mammals. The aim is to understand how genes and early-life environmental conditions interact to influence an organism's life history and physiological function right across the adult lifespan under natural conditions.
